Description:
Riverside Health Care ("RHC") delivers acute, community, and long-term care services across the Rainy River District in Northwestern Ontario, with facilities in Fort Frances, Emo, and Rainy River. Rainycrest Long-Term Care (LTC) in Fort Frances is a key component of this network, providing 24/7 resident care in a licensed LTC environment.RHC is undertaking a replacement of the end-of-life legacy Nurse Call system at Rainycrest LTC with a new, hard-wired Nurse Call System (NCS) designed to improve clinical safety, reliability, and reporting in an occupied LTC setting. The new NCS will support resident/responder workflows, provide timely and clear alarm annunciation, and enable better monitoring of response times and escalation.The new NCS must be based on a wired Cat5e (or better) Power over Ethernet (PoE) core with no dependency on Wi-Fi for core nurse call operation, and must use direct-powered devices (with UPS/generator-backed resiliency rather than battery dependency for normal operation). The system will replace the current push-button system and is expected to integrate, as appropriate, with life-safety and building systems (e.g., paging, door or wander-resident alarms, bed/chair sensors, and fire alarm interface as permitted by the Authorities Having Jurisdiction).
