Description:
The Municipality of Meaford wishes to engage a consulting engineering firm to provide engineering and consulting services for the rehabilitation of BR-035 and BR-046.
The location of the structures is shown in Attachment 1 Project Locations.
The proponent must have the ability to complete the work for each of the two structures concurrently, including support during construction.
The municipality anticipates that the projects will be a Schedule A/A+ Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA) or an exempt from the Environmental Assessment Process. The Consultant shall be responsible for reviewing and determining the appropriate MCEA as part of this assignment and this would include consultation with the provincial ministry.
The municipality anticipates that a separate tenders will be issued for the construction of each structure (2 tender documents and 2 contracts).
Structure BR-035 is located on the Lakeshore Road South between Centreville Road and Algonquin Drive and crosses Centreville Creek. This section of road has an average daily traffic count of 483 vehicles. The existing structure is a cast-in-place concrete rigid frame with a width of 10.1 metres and a span of 6.1 metres. This project will include concrete rehabilitation of the structure to repair sever concrete deterioration, replacement of the barrier system on the structure, replacement or addition of roadside safety systems off the structure and replacement of the road surface.
