Description:
The Board is seeking proposals for the provision of extrusion-based 3D Printers, related consumables and accessories. The printers will be used for instructional purposes with a focus on its Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) curriculum areas. The printers will be primarily used in classrooms and labs at the grade 7-12 level. The Board is looking to standardize the offerings made available to schools by initially selecting two (or more) 3D printer models for individual schools to choose from. It is anticipated that the Board would make available a model in each of two distinct categories that schools could elect to purchase:
Entry Level 3D PrinterAn entry level educational product with the goal of introducing the concept of 3D printing, mainly to students at the middle or secondary school level.
Intermediate/Higher End 3D PrinterA 3D printer geared toward part modelling that can be incorporated into existing Computer Aided Design (CAD) courses at the secondary level.
