Description:
The Ministry of Health (Ministry) is supporting health authorities and communities by improving the current drinking water officer (DWO) delegation practices and ongoing education of the Province-s DWO. This will ensure continued safe drinking water and protection of public health in B.C. This work will build on existing education and training provided by academic institutions, health authorities, and other government and non-government agencies.

The intention is to develop: A comprehensive, standard of competencies, education, certification and experience of a professional to be qualified for DWO delegation, potentially building on existing industry and related cross agency expertise, with a goal to increase workforce availability and explore innovative educational pathways for becoming a DWO Standardized training, including course content and delivery platform, that will support onboarding new DWOs as well as continuous professional development for seasoned DWOs.

Location DeliveryVendor will need to account for both virtual and in-person meetings or working sessions with various partners such as health authorities, post-secondary institutions, ministry representatives.
Budget: The approved budget for the initial term is $490,000.
The anticipated contact term is from April 30, 2025 to March 31, 2028. At the discretion of the Province the term may be extended for up to three (3) additional one (1) years
