Description:
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry, Fish Culture Section of the Fish and Wildlife Services Branch (FWSB) contracts with private sector fish feed manufacturing companies to supply fish feed for fish reared in provincial fish culture stations. The Ministry raises several species of salmonids for stocking into public waters, with the bulk of the production being composed of Lake Trout, Brook Trout and their hybrid Splake, and minor production of Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, Aurora Trout, Atlantic Salmon, Chinook Salmon and Lake Whitefish. The Ministry also raises small quantities of Walleye, Muskellunge and Bloater. Fish are typically stocked as fry, fingerlings or yearlings. The Ministry also maintains several lines of mature brood stock. Scope of Work This Request for Bids (RFB) is an invitation to prospective Bidders to submit Tenders for the supply and delivery of approximately 245,000 kg per year of slow sinking, extruded fish feed in a variety of sizes from starter to grower and brood diets to ten (10) Provincial Stations across Ontario.
