Description:
Public Health Ontario requires the supply of a Matrix Assisted Laser Desorption Ionization Time-of-Flight (MALDI-ToF) mass spectrometry (MS) system for the purpose of rapid, reliable identification of bacteria, yeast, fungi and mycobacteria based on differences in protein profiles (a proteomic profiling approach). The objective of this RFB is to acquire the services of a Vendor for the supply and delivery of one (1) MALDI ToF MS system, along with associated consumables and Preventative Maintenance services to support the Public Health Ontario Laboratory (PHOL) Toronto. The proposed agreement would supply the capital purchase of a MALDI-ToF system alongside installation and training services and a warranty period, followed by supply of any required consumables and preventive maintenance services for a total term of five years. Scope of Work Public Health Ontario (PHO) has a requirement for an efficient bench-top MALDI-ToF MS system for the purpose of rapid, reliable identification of bacteria, yeast, fungi and mycobacteria. Specifically as the reference laboratory for the province of Ontario, PHO is looking for a vendor system that has broad databases of bacteria, yeast, fungi and Mycobacteria and the ability to access and link to external databases of organisms.
