Description:
RFP for the provision of a searchable, digital data set of the donated geoscience material within the Resident Geologist Program in a format compatible with the ministry-s internal database, Ontario Mineral Exploration Information System (OMEIS), capture the associated metadata, and provide the Resident Geologist Program with AODA-compliant PDF scans of the original documents. Scope of Work The objectives of the projects are: • To create a searchable, digital data set that is compatible with the Ministry-s internal data management system, Ontario Mineral Exploration Information System (OMEIS) from hard-copy donated geoscience materials that have been archived by the Resident Geologist Program. • Catalogue detailed metadata (information to be used for discovery and identification of the digital data set) within this donated geoscience material into a Microsoft excel table so it may then be entered by Ministry staff into the Ministry-s internal OMEIS database in order to provide public access to this information through a public-facing platform. • Provide Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) compliant digital versions of the digitized material by conforming to the World Wide Web Consortium Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, at level AA and applying, correcting, and ensuring accuracy of optical character recognition (OCR).
