Description : Request for information for a Capital Construction Management software/system and implementation. The capital construction function of the Ministry of Transportation Ontario (MTO) collectively administers one of the largest infrastructure programs of any highway authority in Canada. MTO has approximately 1,600 projects on its 5-year program to manage Ontario-s highway network which is geographically diverse, including urban and rural areas. The highway network consists of approximately 19,000 centerline-kilometres of highway, over 3,000 bridges, over 2,000 structural culverts, 29 remote northern airports, 11 ferry services and 15 tunnels. Other assets include lighting, traffic signals, overhead signs, commuter parking lots, commercial vehicle inspection stations, patrol yards and rest areas. The program is managed from five regionally located offices and a centralized provincial office. Transportation Information Management Division (TIMD) provides oversight for delivery of engineering and construction services primarily delivered by external service providers.
