Description:
The Project will include upgrades to the biosolids facilities of the NEWPCC, including systems to convert sludge produced on site and hauled from the City of Winnipeg-s (the City) South End Sewage Treatment Plant (SEWPCC), the West End Sewage Treatment Plant (WEWPCC) for beneficial re-use. As such, upgrades to accept, store, treat and stabilize the sludge produced from the treatment of wastewater is required. The Project scope includes:installation of a hauled raw sludge receiving facility to receive sludge from the WEWPCC, and the SEWPCCinstallation of a fermentation and phosphorous release facility to store sludge and to promote the release of phosphorous;installation of a pre-digestion sludge treatment facility to screen, blend and equalize sludge, dewater the sludge, and thermal conditioning of the dewatered sludge through the Cambi Thermal Hydrolysis (CHT) system;installation of an anaerobic digestion facility to digest and store the sludge;installation of a biosolids processing and loading facility, including Ostara phosphorous recovery, chemical and phosphorous storage areas, dewatering centrifuges, truck loading area, area control and automation, field control station and employee amenities;installation of a digester gas handling facility to receive gases collected from the anaerobic digestion facility for treatment to remove moisture and hydrogen sulfide, a major cause of odors; and,associated works, such as yard work, tunnels, internal piping galleries, external was...
