- The City of Medicine Hat is requesting proposals from accounting firms to audit the financialstatements and annual reports, as well as prepare the information returns for the City of MedicineHat and the Medicine Hat Airport for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2023. Additionally, theCity would like proposals to include the audit services and financial statement preparation for theMedicine Hat Public Library, and for preparation of Allied Oil & Gas Corp. Income Tax Returns forthe fiscal year ending December 31, 2023; with an option of auditing these financial statementsand completion of tax returns for each of the four (4) subsequent fiscal years upon mutualagreement and approval by City of Medicine Hat Council. In addition to the previously mentionedservices, this request also includes triennial audit services relating to the Local AuthoritiesPension Plan Compliance Audit, Special Forces Pension Plan, and Family and CommunitySupport Services Program. These audits are to be performed in accordance with generallyaccepted auditing standards as well as the following additional requirements:
(A) Generally accepted accounting principles for Municipal Government established by the PublicSector Accounting Board of the Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) of Canada.
(B) Any modification of the principles or any supplementary accounting standards or principlesestablished by the Minister for regulation.
