Description:
RRC Polytech is seeking proposals from qualified Prime Consultants for the Building B North-elevation Window replacement, Notre Dame Campus, aimed at addressing the deteriorated condition of the existing window systems and enhancing overall building envelope performance, energy efficiency, and occupant comfort. This project will involve the complete removal and replacement of the existing North-elevation Window assemblies, including frames, glazing, and associated components, with new high-performance thermally broken aluminum window systems. The design shall comply with current building codes, incorporate sustainability best practices, and consider options such as high-performance and bird-safe glazing solutions where applicable. The scope of work includes design development, preparation of technical specifications, window details, and schedules, as well as the implementation of a high-performance window system designed to minimize heat loss, control air infiltration, manage moisture, and improve thermal comfort. The design shall also include reconstruction of window rough openings, integration of continuous air/vapour barriers, and appropriate spandrel and insulation upgrades. It is essential that the selected consultant demonstrates proven experience with similar building envelope renewal projects, particularly within institutional or educational environments, and has strong knowledge of current advancements in window systems and energy-efficient design.
