Prequalification-Masonry Contractor-Heritage Projects

Job Location : Hagen Hall, 115 Séraphin-Marion Private, Ottawa

Description : The Univesity of Ottawa is seeking to prequalify masonry contractors who specialize in heritage projects for a restoration project at Hagen Hall in the downtown Campus. This work will include raking joints by hand, cutting stone, brick replacement, brick dismantling and rebuilding as well as restoration of mortar repairs and historical repointing. Repairs involving proprietary stone restoration mortar shall be carried out by persons who have successfully completed the manufacturer-s training course and have been certified by the manufacturer for the type of work required. Proof of accreditation by the manufacturer is to be provided before work begins. The project is planned to begin in April 2021 and be completed by the end of July 2021. There is no scheduled bidder's briefing but proponents ar welcome to visit the site, and Appendix E gives a complete description of the specifications. Proposals are due via electronic submission on MERX before 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday December 8, 2020. All firms achieving 75% or higher in scoring will be included int the tender for General Contractors.
