Assiniboine College is inviting General Contractors and Major Subcontractors to to submit a proposal in response to a Future Procurement for the Prairie Innovation Centre of Sustainable Agriculture (PIC).The PIC project comprises the following summary of work :1. Demolition of the existing central wing of the historic Parklands building andselective demolition throughout the historic Parklands Building. Theapproximate footprint of demolition of the central wing is 15,000 SF.2. Renovation of 152,000 SF of gross floor area within the existing historicParklands building over six floors including work in the existing crawlspaceand attic.3. Construction of a 38,600 SF three storey addition to the North side of theexisting historic building.4. Extensive site upgrades include parking lots, a new geothermal field, twonew stormwater detention ponds, alterations and additions to buriedservices and utilities around the property including but not limited to watermains, sanitary, storm sewers, steam and gas lines, emergency power andfiber optic communications.5. Significant site excavation to a general depth of approx. 5m to 6m belowexisting grade. Deep excavation will require an engineered shoring systemto protect the existing shallow foundations supporting the Parkland Buildingfoundations from disturbance.Vendors must pre-qualify for each scope or portion of the services they want to beable to compete for in the future procurement.
