Description:
The purpose of this RFI is to gather information that may be useful to the Ministry with respect to a potential future procurement or other process or initiative. This RFI is not: (i) a tender notice or call for tenders; (ii) a notice of intended procurement; or (iii) a notice of planned procurement.

The Ministry advertised a Request for Proposals (RFP) in 2005 for a “subdivision and permitting approvals management solution”, including a perpetual, irrevocable license for the software solution. Computronix (Canada) Ltd was the successful proponent; their proprietary POSSE software is the foundation of the Ministry-s Electronic Development Approvals System (eDAS) today.

eDAS is the primary tool used by the Ministry to receive, manage and process development approvals. The Ministry-s POSSE implementation relies on Computronix technologies, which a specified in the RFI document.

The eDAS system and related business processes operate in a cross-ministry ecosystem that provides a variety of permitting and permitting-related services. A number of other groups within this ecosystem rely on their own POSSE-based systems.
With an increase in development projects, housing demands, and economic growth initiatives, the need for an efficient eDAS that provides timely, accurate, and streamlined processes is more critical than ever.
