Detailed_Description : This is an RfB to acquire the services of an experienced primary care physician who is licenced and in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) to act as the physician representative on the Northern Health Travel Grant (NHTG) Medical Appeals Committee (MAC).
Scope of Work : The Ministry of Health (the “ministry”) requires services of an experienced primary care physician who is licenced and in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) to act as the physician representative on the Northern Health Travel Grant (NHTG) Medical Appeals Committee. The Medical Appeals Committee is comprised of two clinicians as well as a northern Ontario resident familiar with local context and geography. To fulfil obligations of administering the NHTG MAC in accordance with the policy parameters approved by Treasury Board/Management Board of Cabinet (TB/MBC) and Cabinet, the Physician Advisor is required to provide advice on granting or denying exceptions to eligibility criteria on exceptional medical grounds which then aids the ministry in administering the NHTG MAC. The NHTG Medical Appeals Review Committee (hereby referred to as the “Committee”) is to provide timely, fair, evidence-informed, and objective reviews and recommendations relating to NHTG appeals for exceptions. The Committee will make its recommendations independent of NHTG program operations and is expected to thereby enhance the transparency and consistency of the implementation of the NHTG program.Services will be required immediately upon the award of contract.
