Description:
The G. Tackaberry and Family Home is a brand new 192 bed long term care home that is scheduled to open in September 2025. The home is located on County Road #42 on the East side of the Village of Athens. In addition to 192 residents the home is expected to be visited by upwards of 100+ families / friends / allied professionals on a daily basis. Incorporated in the physical design of the new facility is a café space near the front entrance that will serve residents, families, staff, and visitors to the home. The new home will be the workplace to more than 255 staff.

The Counties is seeking information from non-profit groups, commercial businesses, or entrepreneurs that may have an interest in the ongoing operation of the café. The vision is that the café will be a hub where families, residents, staff and other visitors can gather, connect and purchase something tasty to eat or drink. There is no café that currently operates at the current 60-bed Maple View Lodge.
