- The intent of this project is to provide engineering and technical services to support the infrastructure and operations of Water Infrastructure and Operations Branch (WIOB) - Southern Operations (SO). WIOB relies on the advice and technical services provided by subject matter experts for specializedinspection, assessment, memo, and design proposals for civil engineering projects. This contract seeks to have in place a consultant which can fill the roles required for inspection, assessment, design and consultation for various projects. BACKGROUND WIOB is responsible for the operation and maintenanceof provincially owned water management infrastructure. This infrastructure provides a secure water supply for irrigation districts, industrial and commercial users, municipalities and individuals. The water management infrastructure operated and maintained by WIOB includes: river diversion structures,dams, reservoirs, and canal systems for water storage conveyance, and supply to downstream end users. These infrastructure systems contain flow control components including: gates, weirs, spillways, check structures, diversions, outflows, as well as numerous associated mechanical and electricalcomponents. This infrastructure is supported by active monitoring and instrumentation networks integral to the system.
