- O-Chiese First Nation (OCFN) is seeking qualified engineering firms to complete the detailed design, tender preparation, and (optional) construction support services of permanent stabilization works for O-Chiese I Road, located on-reserve about 6.7 km east of Sunchild Road. The site has experienced ongoing slope movement since 2021, causing lane closure and requiring a temporary detour. Based on a recent assessment three remediation options were evaluated—road realignment, full reconstruction, and a cast-in-place pile wall—the Nation selected the pile wall as the preferred long-term solution due to its durability, minimal environmental impact, and adaptability for future extensions. The successful proponent will use these findings as the basis for design and deliver the project on behalf of the Nation within the approved schedule and budget.
