- The Government of Manitoba, as represented by the Minister of Environment and Climate Change, requires a consultant to complete updated liability assessments at twenty (20) Orphaned
and Abandoned Mine (OAM) sites.
The purpose of this RFS is to solicit proposals to complete Liability Assessments on twenty (20) OAM sites.
Liability Assessments are required to be conducted at a maximum of five (5) years from the date of the last inspection. Of the twenty (20) sites included in this package, nineteen (19) were completed in 2021, the exception being Bowden Shaft, completed in 2022.
The updated Liability Assessment for each site will determine their progression within the OAM program. OAM requires the PQS to make recommendations to remediate, perform long term care
and maintenance or delist sites based on their updated hazard evaluations and site conditions.
