Description : NOTICE OF INTENT TO DIRECT AWARD Notice is hereby given by TRIUMF INC of its intent to contract with Mirion Technologies (CANBERRA CA) Ltd. The contract will not exceed $150,000 CAD and will include 1 (One) batch of 8 (Eight) Si(Li) detectors for Conversion Electron measurements delivered by August 2022. The purpose of this contract is to provide expert services to achieve the following objectives: ο· Deliver 8 (eight) lithiumβdrifted silicon (Si(Li)) semiconductor detectors for inβvacuum internal conversion electron measurements. The crystal dimensions should be identical to the existing PACES crystals that are part of the GRIFFIN spectrometer. The detector external diameter is 22mm and a total thickness of 5mm with a thin gold contact on the entrance face. The detectors requested are bare processed lithiumβdrifted silicon crystals without any contacting material/wires. No associated electronics are requested. TRIUMF has chosen not to tender the contemplated contract for the following reasons: ο· Due to an absence of competition for technical reasons. ο· To ensure compatibility with existing goods, or to maintain specialized goods that must be maintained by the manufacturer of those goods or its representative.
