Notice is hereby given by the Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development (The Ministry) of its intent to purchase 70 Acoustic Recording Units (ARUs) for an owl study in the South Coast Region.

Term: After the notice of intent is posted and completed, the ARUs will be delivered by Aug 31, 2021.
The invoice will not exceed a value of $15,000.
The Ministry has chosen not to solicit other vendors as:
1) there are a limited number of wildlife acoustic suppliers and our review of other vendors' equipment determined that the chosen vendor has the ability to fulfill all the specific order requirements as outlined in the attachment;
2) the product selected has a proven track record of providing reliable results based on other similar study designs implemented by the Ministry; and
3) The ARU's purchased will be used to expand on an existing project using this ARU model. This will ensure consistent interpretation and reduce bias of results.
