Consulting Assignments - Environmental Services
Summary Details:
The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy, Ecosystems Branch, and BC Parks, Victoria, BC, are intending to direct award a contract to the Wildlife Conservation Society of Canada (WCSC). The contract is for work related to the North American Bat Monitoring Program (NABat) and "probiotic" research in white-nose syndrome (WNS) treatment options in BC, including the following proposed work/service:
- Preparing and standardizing acoustic equipment and providing advice on NABat site selection and equipment placement to meet NABat standards;
- Assisting with training government staff and volunteers to implement NABat in BC;
- Acoustic data analysis and data entry following NABat standards and Wildlife Species Inventory Standards for ~21 grid cells that will be monitored by government staff;
- Conducting research on "probiotic" treatment options for bats.
The proposed work/service is to be carried out by The Wildlife Conservation Society of Canada at a contract price of less than $80,000.
The anticipated term of the contract is from October 13, 2021 to March 15, 2022.
Options to renew this contract will be considered.
