Community Based Support Services

Summary Details:
The Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General, Kamloops Regional Correctional Centre, Kamloops BC, is intending to direct award a Case Management and Community Reintegration contract for the following proposed work/service:
- Deliver a specialized pre-release case management and community reintegration program at the Kamloops Regional Correctional Centre (KRCC). Under the program, an Indigenous Cultural Liaison worker will provide case management and community re-integration services to Indigenous men in custody. The program's goal is to increase awareness as to the availability of resources and assistance available to men of Indigenous descent. The worker will assist men in setting up plans aimed at success and community re-integration in their home communities and reserves. For men who are seeking or needing support but choose to live in an urban setting, the worker will introduce them to services in the community where they wish to reside such as educational and friendship centres.
- The case management and community re-integration program at KRCC will provide access to a comprehensive list of resources and services available to Indigenous people who are about to be released from custody. Men in custody will be able to learn from a qualified person in the area of Indigenous culture and the unique culture...
