- The work under this project involves:Replace existing elevator and any necessary parts/equipment/accessories including but not limited to rails, cab, wiring and travelling cables, fire protection sensors, alarms and communications, equipment and controls. Consultant is to ensure that all parts, controllers, etc. are non-proprietary and up to applicable codes, standards, and regulations. In addition, the scope will include the below items to investigate and provide replacement and/or modifications as applicable:- The condition of the Elevator pit.- The condition of the ventilation in the elevator machine room.- Consultant to determine the possibility of implementing a Machine Room-less (MRL).- Consultant to investigate if building backup generator has capacity to include the elevator operation.- Consultant to include in their design the requirements for elevator lobbies (basement, main and 2nd floor) to be equipped with Fire Alarm smoke detectors to satisfy the CSA B44 requirements and all other Life Safety requirements.-Consultant is to investigate and include in the business case options to implement different types of elevators.
