Description:
The town of Stony Plain in an urban municipality located west of Edmonton with a population of nearly 18,000 residents, comprised of young families, working professionals, artists, entrepreneurs and retirees. In addition to the town-s residential population, over 900 businesses provide services to the community, as well as to customers in the region and beyond. This request for proposals is an invitation by the Town of Stony Plain (the "Town") to prospective proponents to submit proposals for Municipal Waste Services - Garbage and Organics. The Town of Stony Plain is requesting submissions from proponents to provide services throughout the town for the collection of regular household garbage and organics. Beginning April 1, 2025 , the successful proponent with be expected to provide all materials, equipment, supervision, and administration for: • the collection of household garbage and organic waste from approximately 5,703 residential dwelling units; • the collection of garbage and organic waste from front load bins and roll-off containers at select sites and facilities; • the transport and disposal of all collected household garbage at a licensed and approved Class II landfill mutually agreed upon by the successful proponent and the Town; and • the transport and disposal of all organic waste at a processor mutually agreed upon by the successful proponent and the Town.
