Summary Details:
Notice is hereby given that PROVINCIAL HEALTH SERVICES AUTHORITY, FRASER HEALTH AUTHORITY, PROVIDENCE HEALTH, VANCOUVER COASTAL HEALTH AUTHORITY and VANCOUVER ISLAND HEALTH AUTHORITY
(the "Health Authorities"), through their collective agent Provincial Health Services Authority ("PHSA"), intends to directly award a non-volume committed Contract to the following supplier to provide the Supplies of MitraClip product for a term of three (3) years with two (2) one (1) year options which will be exercised at the discretion of PHSA at an estimated value of $5M CAD.

PHSA, as agent for the Health Authorities has chosen not to proceed with a competitive process for the following reasons:
(a) for technical reasons the goods can be supplied only by a particular supplier and no alternative or substitute exists
To ensure the continued supply of these essential products to the Health Authorities with stable pricing, we will direct award the above non-volume committed contract until PHSA determines that there are additional suppliers in the market that can supply functionally equivalent goods. This does not affect any volumes with other vendors that also have products within the heart valve repair products category.
