INTRODUCTION
The purpose of this document is to solicit proposals for the supply of Mechanical Insufflator Exsufflator - Cough Assist - Accessories and Supplies to be contracted by 3sHealth on behalf of the entities.
DESCRIPTION OF GOODS AND SERVICES
In 2016 Mechanical Insufflator-Exsufflator cough assist devices were added as a benefit to the Saskatchewan Aids to Independent Living (SAIL) Respiratory Equipment Program. Currently, records indicate on average 102 cough assists devices are provided for home use to patients in Saskatchewan.
The device simulates a natural cough to clear lung secretions for patients who are unable to cough effectively on their own. Suitable for patients with conditions that affect the neuromuscular system such as muscular dystrophy, myasthenia gravis, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and spinal cord injuries.
