- Measurement Canada is responsible for ensuring accuracy in the purchase and sale of measured goods. Measurement Canada inspectors apply inspection and examination stickers to scales, gas pumps, electricity and natural gas meters and other measuring devices following an inspection that determines the device is measuring accurately and is in compliance with the laws and requirements governing trade measurement. The stickers are affixed to devices in high traffic, visible areas, located indoors and outdoors, and must be able to withstand extreme heat and cold, sunlight, as well as wet and dry conditions while remaining affixed to the device and legible.
