Description:
The City invites bids from qualified Suppliers to manage and operate its Community Garden Program.
Community gardens are vital social and educational spaces that foster community connections and promote physical and mental well-being. They provide access to culturally significant foods and contribute to environmental sustainability by supporting climate adaptation and biodiversity. In addition, these gardens serve as platforms for public education on topics ranging from climate change to biology.
The successful Supplier will oversee the management and operation of multiple community gardens across the City. Currently, the City operates nine allotment-style community garden locations (see Appendix D - Current Community Garden Locations) and anticipates adding more sites during the term of this Contract.
Responsibilities of the Supplier include delivering garden maintenance and programming at each location, as outlined in Appendix C. Programming must include educational sessions that engage and inform the public. The City will retain responsibility for identifying new garden locations and constructing any additional sites
