- TransGas requires third-party consultant/s to perform fugitive emission surveys at compressor stations (approximately 25 sites) and ancillary facilities (primarily meter station, up to 350 sites) located throughout Saskatchewan three (3) times per calendar year, with potential for additional surveys as regulation requirements change. The primary tasks associated with a fugitive emission survey are: a. locating; b. characterizing and quantifying methane emissions from sources of natural gas loss; c. mark all unrepaired leaks with identifier tag for future repair. d. document every leak as per Federal Oil and Gas Methane Regulations, with enough specific detail/consistency that allows the easy tracking of leaks from a specific source over the course of multiple surveys. Photos/video of each leak and vent source must be provided with enough detail to clearly identify source.
