Detailed_Description : The purpose of this request is to procure a 20-foot electrofishing vessel. This vessel must be equipped with a four-stroke, 150 horsepower main outboard motor and a 25 horsepower kicker outboard motor. Additionally, it should include a galvanized trailer package with an appropriate Gross Vehicle Registered Weight (GVRW) for the entire boat/trailer assembly. This equipment is intended for use by the Ministry of Natural Resources to complete field work at various field locations, primarily on Lake Erie.
Scope of Work : The Ministry of Natural Resources, Lake Erie Management Unit is responsible for monitoring, assessment and research of Lake Erie-s aquatic resources to ensure long-term sustainability of Lake Erie-s ecosystem. Electrofishing is an efficient and established method of collecting fisheries data. Electrofishing on Lake Erie and its embayment-s is unique in that it requires a vessel that meets strict safety criteria in hull design in order to handle the varying marine conditions within Lake Erie-s watershed. This vessel will be used to sample fish in both the nearshore embayment environments and offshore areas which requires a versatile boat with a shallow draft that can also handle rough and wavy conditions. Additional details will be provided in the RFT document.The supplier must ensure that the vessel complies with Transport Canada construction standards for small vessels (2010) TP 1332 E. the supplier is required to provide a minimum of one day on-site training to the Ministry. This training will cover vessel operation and the user maintenance of the vessel, outboards, and trailer.It is the Ministry-s intention to enter into the Agreement with only one (1) legal entity.
