Description:
To solicit proposals to provide recommendations and identify and support courses of action that can help regional economic development alliance (REDA) organizations be sustainable without Government of Alberta operational funding.The Contractor will work with each individual REDA organization to help them assess their current operational capacity, as well as plan and help implement initiatives that can prepare the REDA organizations for a transition away from annual operational support from the Province. The Contractor will work to:- Assess operational sustainability barriers and opportunities; - Develop sustainability recommendations and identify actions to undertake; - Help the organizations implement those actions; - Provide ongoing support and regular “check in-s” for the actions being undertaken; and,- Track the progress of actions and advise any necessary adjustments to ensure success. In addition, at the direction of the Province, the Contractor will provide the Province with advice on supporting regional economic development using competitive project-based funding approaches that can further support regional collaboration. The non-profit REDA organizations undertake economic development initiatives on behalf of their members. Membership in these organizations has historically been predominantly municipalities, although some have other members (e.g., First Nations, local industry, chambers of commerce).
