This Request for Proposals (the “RFP”) is an invitation by the Town of Cochrane (“the Town”) to prospective proponents to submit proposals for Private Security Services The Town is seeking proposals from professional companies experienced in riverbank erosion control and restoration using bioengineering and vegetative management solutions. The intent of this project is to reduce erosion, enhance soil stability, and protect riverbanks from future degradation. This will be accomplished through a combination of targeted plantings, bioengineering practices, native seeding, informal trail closures, and the active management of invasive species in the project area. The riverbanks are currently experiencing significant erosion, largely due to human and canine access. This erosion is primarily in the form of informal desire lines and the formation of rills, both contributing to the degradation of the landscape. While erosion resulting from natural forces, such as water levels and river morphology, cannot be mitigated through this project, the impact of human-induced erosion can be reduced. The goal is to address erosion caused by park use, slowing the impact of these degrading factors and preserving the ecological integrity of the area. The project site is located at Jim Uffelmann Park (720 River Ave, Cochrane, AB), along the Bow River, extending approximately 1,043 meters in length.
