Summary Details:
The District of Summerland (the "Owner") invites Tenders for ITT-2021-07, Isintok Dam Outlet Pipe Replacement.
Isintok Lake is in the Southern Thompson hydrologic zone, approximately 37 km west from Summerland and Okanagan Lake. The dam, originally built in 1926, is constructed from an adjacent borrow pit and consists mostly of sand. Upgrades include deepening of the original spillway in 1945 and reconstruction of the dam and low-level outlet (LLO) in 1959-1960. The reservoir is used for water storage in support of the municipal water utilities and irrigation.
The project involves the replacement of the Low Level Outlet (LLO) pipe at the dam and the scope of work includes:
- Excavation and temporary stockpiling of material for the LLO pipe replacement;
- Backfill and compaction of the excavated material after installation of the new LLO pipe;
- Installation of 95.95 m of a 1,200 mm HDPE LLO pipe;
- Concrete structures for pipe inlet and outlet and for the sliding gate control;
- Installation of an Owner supplied sliding valve;
- Add rock riprap to the front face of the dam;
- Improvements to the access road; and
- Geotechnical design for dam earthworks.
