Description:
The International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS) was established by the Alberta Government in 1994 to help immigrants obtain recognition for their educational academic credentials they received in other countries. IQAS is an Alberta government service issuing assessment certificates that generally indicate how an educational credential received in another country compares to educational standards in Canada. The purposes of the IQAS program evaluation are:• To evaluate program service delivery and identify opportunities to enhance services provided, with the goal of providing an excellent international qualification assessment service in Canada.• To examine industry best practices for service delivery and how these can be applied in the government context.• To explore the enhancement or expansion of the existing suite of services for international qualification assessment that could be provided under the program-s cost recovery funding model.• To seek to understand the drivers impacting demand for the program and identify opportunities to generate and sustain consistent levels of demand.This program evaluation project is part of larger activities for IQAS program continuous improvement initiative which includes development of a logic model and performance measures and an operational excellence project.
