- - Statement of Requirements 1.2.1. The Unversity of Ottawa is pleased to invite qualified proponents to submit a proposal for an instrument for sizing and concentration of polydisperse populations of extracellular vesicles and nanoprarticles. The requested instrument is a critical piece of equipment required to determine size and concentration of extracellular vesicle (EV) and nanoparticle preparations. The instrument ideally can distinguish subpopulations of nanoparticles or EVs in the size range of 20 nm to 1000 nm with minimal read times per sample and minimal variability. The instrument should measure individual particles to identify subpopulations with polydisperse sizes. General Description:The instrument will be capable of measuring the size of individual EVs and other nanoparticles ranging from 20 nm to 1000 nm and provide a reliable concentration of particles in solution in less than 10 minutes per sample. The instrument should be capable of measuring particles of different compositions including biological EVs, lipid nanoparticles, liposomes, gold or silver nanoparticles etc. The system will also be capable of differentiating subpopulations of EVs by size, by measuring large numbers of individual particles. Ideally, but not necessarily, the instrument may provide additional measurements of particles such as Zeta potential or fluorescence.The instrument should be supplied as a fully operational instrument including all computers and software necessary.
