- The Town of Smithers (the Town) is seeking quotations from professional environmental engineering companies to conduct a hydrogeological study at the site of a proposed new snow dump. In the summer of 2024, the Town will donate land to Northern Health for the construction of a new long-term carefacility. Historically, this site has been used as the Town's snow dump. Therefore, the Town is proposing the Public Works Yard site, located at the existing Fire Training Centre adjacent to Pacific Avenue, as the new location for the snowdump.
