Description : British Columbia Hydro and Power Authority (“BC Hydro”) requires a Sikorsky CH54B helicopter, or equivalent, and the necessary flight and support crew (three pilots (captain, first officer and rear-seat pilot), three mechanics, two radioperson/driver) to assist in the lifting of transmission towers and associated material located in Fort St. John, B.C. The heavy lift helicopter contract must: • stage to flyard at adjacent to South Bank Substation and construction site at 56° 11-24.94 N 120° 54-53.94" W; • be capable of handling loads up to and including 21,500lbs. with a safety lift factor of 5% performance reserve and applicable downwash factor at 25°C at 2000- pressure altitude; • be equipped with an anti-rotation device; • have an aft facing pilot seat with controls to precision land assembled lattice tower sections; • provide guides for landing assembled tower sections onto tower stubs and subsequent lattice section; • be able to lift the sections of assembled towers each with a maximum weight of 21,500 lbs.; • have helicopter pilots to have a minimum of 4,000 hours pilot in command time, 100 hours pilot in command time on aircraft type and 750 hours pilot in command time on general long line operations; • have the pilot flying external load to have a minimum of 25 hours p...
