Description : The purpose of this Request for Proposals (RFP) is to seek a qualified playground construction company to design new playgrounds, remove the existing structures, and supply and install new structures and amenities for a safe and enjoyable neighbourhood play area for children and families for many years to come. Replacement of Hearthstone and The Lakes Playgroundsshall be done with similar and improved versions of play units, accommodating comparable ages while adding two pieces of adult aerobic exercise equipment to each playground. Although The Lakes Playground is near other playgrounds and shall be unique, incorporating a swing element is important in the design, perhaps a swinging hammock. Considering the size of the parks, we expect a more significant investment at Hearthstone Playground. A total budget, not to exceed $300,000 plus GST, is allocated towards removing, designing, purchasing and delivering the equipment, protective surfacing, and borders applicable to the project. Price is to include removal and disposal of existing playground structures, freight to sites, offloading and storage if needed, installation, concrete, auguring, removal of tailings, installation of protective surfacing, and installation of borders.
