- This Request for Proposal (the “RFP”) is an invitation by the Corporation of the City of Port Colborne (the “City”) to prospective consulting firms (each a "Proponent") to each submit a proposal (a "Proposal") for the Green House Gas Reduction Feasibility Study for City of Port Colborne Locations, as further described in the RFP documentation.
The study must meet all the requirements outlined in the Federation of Canadian Municipality (FCM)-s GHG Reduction Pathway Feasibility Study Guidance Document.
Note: The City has applied for a FCM grant under this Community Building Retrofit (CBR) initiative, administered through Green Municipal Fund (GMP), to partially cover the cost of this study, so meeting all the requirements outlined in the guidance document is mandatory.
Background
The City is initialing a groundbreaking project focused on advancing environmental sustainability and community health. The primary goal is to establish a pathway for reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, targeting a 50% reduction within 10 years and 80% reduction in 20 years. This aligns with the City-s strategic plan, emphasizing net-zero energy by 2040. The City aims to leverage these studies to support the development of a strategic roadmap and set the stage for significant GHG reductions.
