Description : The Grande Cache Recreation Centre is equipped with a National Hockey League (NHL) size arena and a four (4) sheet-curling rink, both were originally constructed in 1970. Several upgrades have been made to the artificial ice plant including a conversion from R22 refrigerant. While the facility has also had several upgrades, the artificial refrigeration system requires updates to the current aged equipment. In the past, retrofitted upgrades were completed to coincide with the existing units. However, the existing equipment is reaching the end of its lifespan and modern energy efficient technology is available. Therefore, a complete replacement and installation of the existing chiller and suction piping, brine spools, surge drum, oil pot and valves is required. The existing Frick Rotary Screw compressors will not be replaced, however, any additional infrastructure that is required to support the replacement equipment should be noted within the tender submission.
