Tender are invited for Geotechnical Transmission Lines Master Services Agreement

Synopsis: SaskPower requires the services of a contractor to perform geotechnical investigations for various projects at various locations around the province. These projects will primarily be along existing, or proposed, transmission line right-of-way-s. SaskPower builds multiple transmission lines (between 69kV and 230kV) each year. Most of the line structures will be steel or wood poles and possibly a few lattice tower structures. Wood and steel poles are typically directly embedded between 3.0m and 5.0m, depending on the pole height. Some steel poles will require different foundation systems, such as concrete or screw piles, based on the soil properties and the loads. Lattice towers will typically require concrete or screw pile foundations. SaskPower requires confirmation of the soil types for selection of structure type, foundation and construction methodology.
