- This tender is issued to select and award a service agreement to cover the annual and 6-month emergency generator maintenance requirements and annual automatic transfer switch maintenance.
There are 32 (Halifax - 21, Truro - 11) emergency generators and 40 (Halifax - 28, Truro - 12) automatic transfer switches at Dalhousie University. This equipment is located on all four of its campuses, including the Agricultural Campus in Truro. This infrastructure services a variety of research facilities, student residences, and heating/cooling plants and is critical to the success of the University.
This agreement is intended to cover three crucial maintenance services as required by the National Fire Code, 2020, and described in CSA C282-15, Emergency Electrical Power Supply for Buildings. Those services include:
Annual Emergency Generator Inspection & Maintenance6-Month Emergency Generator Inspection & MaintenanceAnnual Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) Inspection & MaintenanceThe incumbent will perform these maintenances on a Dalhousie-prescribed schedule based on University calendars. Due to budgetary restrictions, some ATS may not be inspected in every year of this agreement. Inspection reports and deficiency quotes will accompany all inspections. - Documents:
