Description:
This RFI is issued by the BC Housing Management Commission (“BC Housing”) for the purposes of obtaining information from General Contractors (“GCs”) and Construction Managers (“CMs”) that can support DASH, to assist BC Housing in issuing a Request for Pre-Qualifications (“RFPQ”). Ideally, the companies responding to this RFI are those that: 1) Have experience building Part 3 buildings, multi-unit residential projects up to 6 storeys in BC with prefabricated panels produced in factories and installed on site; and 2) Have experience working directly with prefabricated housing manufacturers and/or teams of integration consultants to streamline construction of factory-built wood frame and/or mass timber components BC Housing and its partners have developed Digitally Accelerated Standardized Housing (“DASH”)—a digital environment and kit-of-parts approach (suite layouts, wall assemblies, etc.) designed to accelerate delivery of six-storey multifamily rental housing. DASH offers a simplified, non-proprietary framework that enables design teams, general contractors, and fabricators to efficiently integrate prefabrication into projects while maintaining design flexibility.
