Description:
This Request for Quotations (the “RFQ”) is an invitation by Loyalist Township (the “Township”) to prospective respondents to submit quotations for FWTP Backflow Preventor Installation & Booster Station Backflow Preventor Relocation, as further described in Section A of the RFQ Particulars (Appendix B) (the “Deliverables”).
FWTP: An additional backflow preventor (BFP) needs to be installed on the internal water lines at Fairfield Water Treatment Plant (FWTP). Along with the new BFP, the existing BFP will be relocated to downstream of the relief line. Two gate values will be installed around the pressure relief valve on the pressure relief line that branches off of the GAC backwash line. Some minor piping changes will be required, and a water meter assembly (installed by Township) will be installed on the internally used water lines.
Booster Station: The backflow preventor at the County Road 6 Booster station was previously installed incorrectly. The BFP is currently in a vertical orientation, however, it should be positioned horizontally. The BFP is also installed downstream of the pressure reducing valve, whereas it should be upstream of it. The BFP will be removed and reinstalled in the correct orientation, upstream of the BFP. The existing by-pass line will be disconnected and reused as a part of the new backflow preventor piping system. Once the piping rework is completed, the small fill station will need to be tied in.
