Description:
This Request for Proposal (“RFP”) invites qualified non-profit organizations to submit proposals for the creation of affordable units across the County. Eligible projects must be multi-residential with a minimum of 15 units.
A total of $3 million in capital funding is available to support the development of new affordable units. This funding will be awarded to at least two unique projects, with a maximum of $1.5 million available per successful proposal.
Overall, the total funding available to an eligible project includes the following:
• Full value of development charges (affordable housing units only), plus a reduction for market rental units in accordance with the Development Charges Act. • Up to $1.5 million in capital funding to support the creation of new affordable and/or supportive rental housing units. • Additional Federal/Provincial funding may become available at the discretion of the County (proponents should submit proposals without taking this into consideration).
All proposals will be required to meet the criteria described within this RFP. Successful Proponents must sign a Municipal Housing Facilities Agreement, and any other documents related to the proposed development.
