- The Surface Science and Bio-nanomaterials Laboratory Group, located in the Department of Chemical Engineering, focuses on the studies towards the development of high-performance advanced materials and innovative functional devices, including smart polymers, biopolymers, sustainable polymers, antimicrobial coatings and composites, hydrogels, bionanomaterials, soft materials and interface, biomimetic adhesion, soft robotic devices, 3D printing, etc. The required Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) Spectrometry Microscope will assist this group in the identification and confirmation of production during new material synthesis. It will also be used for quality control and material characterization. The expected delivery date is December 2024. The budget for the project is capped at $135,000 CAD, including optional CFI in-kind contribution, plus HST.
