- 1.An ACAN is a public notice indicating to the supplier community that a department or agency intends to award a contract for goods, services or construction to a pre-identified supplier, thereby allowing other suppliers to signal their interest in bidding, by submitting a statement of capabilities. If no supplier submits a statement of capabilities that meets the requirements set out in the ACAN, on or before the closing date stated in the ACAN, the contracting officer may then proceed with the award to the pre-identified supplier.
2.Definition of the requirement
oThe Construction Research Center (CRC) of the National Research Council Canada (NRC) has a requirement to begin data collection, algorithm development and interfacing with other tools and databases to support future development of a tool to support carbon accounting and low-carbon material selection in Part 9 residential construction. The work will involve the following:
Research product environmental data (covering A1-A3 life cycle analysis stages) for building systems not currently incorporated in Building Emissions Accounting for Materials (BEAM) estimator, for example, mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems (MEP), doors, stairs, paint and other product categories in alignment with industry standards.
Update existing data for Modules A1-A3.
Research and incorporate algorithms for A1-A3 modules in BEAM as needed in accordance with National Guidelines for Whole-Building Life Cycle Assessment... - Documents:
