Description:
Mapping of forest health factors visible from a small, fixed wing aircraft is being procured by the Ministry. The aircraft will be supplied by the Ministry through a separate procurement process. Aerial Overview Survey procedures are outlined in the following link: https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/industry/forestry/managing-our-forest-resources/forest-health/aerial-overview-surveys/methods.

Two surveyors (a first and second seat) are required per flight. Surveyors must be experienced and be qualified (by the Province) aerial overview surveyors. The first seat surveyors must have 50 hour of Aerial Overview Survey (AOS) experience. The second seat surveyor must have completed an initial training course followed by at least 15 hours of AOS mapping in varied forest types.
