• This Request for Proposals (the “RFP”) is an invitation by the City of Barrie (the “City”) to prospective proponents to submit proposals for First Aid and Mental Health First Aid Training Services as further described in Section A of the RFP Particulars (Appendix D) (the “Deliverables”).
  The City of Barrie wishes to obtain the services of an organization specializing in First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automatic External Defibrators (AED) training in the city and area, to provide training to City of Barrie personnel for the purpose of meeting the requirements of Regulation 1101 made under the WSIA and other requirements that may exist in the OHSA or regulations made under the Act (thus excluding fire and emergency services and lifeguard specific training). The proponent must provide qualified instructors to teach the most recent First Aid and CPR techniques approved by the WSIA Regulation 1101 requirements.
  Mental Health First Aid (MHFA): The objective of MHFA training is to equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to recognize the signs and symptoms of mental health challenges, provide initial support, and effectively guide individuals toward appropriate professional resources. The MHFA training should align with best practices and relevant provincial guidelines and established Mental Health First Aid curricula validated for the Canadian workplace context.
